Partial Fulfilment of Orders placed on E-Commerce Stores

July 30, 20241 min read

Store owners now have the capability to manually fulfill portions of their orders directly through the platform. This means that specific items within an order can be marked as partially fulfilled by the store owners, each with its own unique tracking details. Consequently, users will receive detailed email notifications containing the tracking information for the items that have been partially fulfilled. This enhancement ensures better tracking and communication, allowing customers to stay informed about the status and shipment of each item in their order.

Steps to Partially Fulfill an Item in an Order:

1. Access Partial Fulfillment

  • Navigate to Payments and select Orders.

  • Click on View Order Details for the order you wish to partially fulfill.

  • Select Fulfill Items.

2. Select Items and Quantities

  •  In the Fulfill Items section, choose the quantity of each item that needs to be fulfilled.

3. Add Tracking Details

  •  Enter the tracking details, including:

  •  Tracking Number

  •  Shipping Carrier

  •  Tracking URL

  •  Optionally, store owners can choose to notify users about their shipment details via email.

4. Review Fulfillment Details

On the order details page, items that have been partially fulfilled will display their details, including item name, quantity, and tracking information under the Fulfillment section.

Benefits of Partial Fulfillment of Orders

  1. Improved Customer Satisfaction

    • Customers receive their items faster as partial orders can be shipped as soon as they are ready, rather than waiting for the entire order to be complete.

  2. Enhanced Tracking and Communication

    • Customers are kept informed about the status and shipment of each item in their order with detailed email notifications and tracking information.

  3. Flexibility for Store Owners

    • Store owners can manage inventory more efficiently by fulfilling and shipping available items immediately.
