Settings: URL Redirects
The URL Redirects section of your settings allows you to create 301 Permanent Redirects for your domains. This can be useful for a variety of reasons, including the prevention of duplicate content (i.e. maybe you have several blogs on the same subject and want to aggregate them together), or perhaps you’re moving to a new domain and want to clean up dynamic URLs to redirect them to a shorter, search engine friendly version.
The URL Redirect feature gives you four options for redirecting a domain:
Redirect to another URL
Redirect to a step in a funnel
Redirect to a page in a website
Redirect to all paths (REGEX)
Follow these steps to learn how to create and use URL Redirects for BILT:
Step 1: Create a URL Redirect
Redirect Type: URL
Redirect one URL to a another url
Navigate to Settings > URL Redirects.
Click Add a Redirect.
In the popup window, customize your redirect, and click “Add Redirect” to save your changes.
Redirect Type: Funnel
The Funnel redirect, allows you to 301 redirect a url to a step in an existing funnel that is linked with a domain within the subaccount.
Redirect Type: website
Website redirect allows you to 301 redirect a url to a Website page. Only those websites that are linked to a domain can be used here.
Redirect Type: ALL
Redirect all paths from one URL to all paths of another URL. It is particularly useful when you have a "www" domain (www.mydomain.com) and a root domain (mydomain.com) wherein you can keep all of your paths on one website within sub-account(e.g. mydomain.com/about-us) and then redirect all paths from www.mydomain.com to the root domain, thereby including www.mydomain.com/about-us without having to add a redirect for each path or maintain two websites.
*This is also known as a REGEX redirect.
Step 2: Manage your URL Redirects
On the URL Redirects page you can view a list of all your redirects.
Click the menu dots to edit the Redirect or the trashcan icon to remove any you wish to delete.
